I have also tested all other Properties of the printer (direct print to printer, spooling of the jobs, changed paper quality and printing resolution to the lowest. Effectively, the jobs in the spool are smaller, so the print is quite faster, but still at least 45 seconds to print this simple page (compared to 3 or 4s for the same page and the same printer under XP). One of them was to change the "Print processor" from Lexmark LECF to "Winprint".
My fifth and last action was to try a bunch of things.
#Lexmark x4270 driver download for windows nt drivers
So I removed all drivers from all PCs, and installed my previous Lexmark X5250 ones (that was working perfectly. My fourth conclusion was that the printer was not working as it should. I installed the latest driver on my "strong" desktop, also running under Vista. My third idea was that it was due to the laptop. So my second idea was that it was an issue with the driver. It takes at least 1 minute to start to print, and then 1 minute to print the page. Then, I have plugged the printer in USB, to check that it was working without Wifi. The printer, the laptop (brand new also), and the Wifi router are in the same room, and all of these devices indicates an "excellent" Wifi signal (54 Mbits/s). The printing itslef took at least 1 minute! I have launched the print of a simple single text page in Wifi, and after many minutes, the printing started. I've just bought a Lexmark X4550 Wifi compatible.Įverything is working greate, once setup. To summarize, the printing of a simple single text page under Vista is taking at least 1 minute with a fast printer.įor more info on this issue, here is the full story: I will try to explain what is the current issue I am facing with printing under Vista.
